Reading and spelling homework is assigned on a weekly basis.  Students
are expected to read every night for at least 20 minutes and to complete a
Reading Log.  The spelling cycle runs from Tuesday to Monday.  Each
Tuesday I will assign one spelling homework activity that is to be
completed within that cycle.  Students will also choose two activities from
the
Spelling Activity List to complete during the cycle.  The reading log and
three spelling homework activities are due in class on Monday morning.

Homework in the other subjects areas will be assigned as needed.  This
will prevent students from completing assignments on skills he/she has
already mastered.

Students are welcome to bring home their textbooks on any night as long
as they are returned for class the next day.
Students will begin each grading period with a homework grade of 100
in each subject: reading, English, spelling, math, science, and social
studies.  Five points will be deducted from the appropriate grade each
time homework is incomplete.  The final grades will be averaged into
the report card grades.  For example, if a student completes all
homework on Monday night with the exception of spelling, five points
will be deducted from the spelling grade homework grade only.

Students will complete unfinished homework during recess.

The following homework should be completed every night:
study vocabulary-students should be able to read vocab words and
their definitions
study multiplication-students take one minute timed tests
read 20 minutes
